The Rams evened their record to 2-2 on the season with a 24-14 win over the 49ers in San Francisco. St. Louis jumped out to a 24-0 lead in the second quarter and never looked back, winning their first game in San Francisco since 2001. The Rams got on the board with a two-yard run from Joey Goodspeed on fourth down to grab the lead in the first quarter. On the 49ers first play from scrimmage on the ensuing drive, Tommy Polley sacked Tim Rattay, who fumbled. Leonard Little jumped on the ball at the San Francisco 16-yard line. After a 49er penalty erased a sack of Marc Bulger, the Rams scored from the six yard line when Bulger hit Shaun McDonald in the end zone. In the second quarter, Jeff Wilkins hit a 20-yard field goal and Steven Jackwon capped a 10-lay 91-yard drive with a touchdown from two-yards out. Marshall Faulk finished with 121 yards rushing, while Isaac Bruce caught seven passes for 100 yards.
