The two main candidates for Governor have agreed to at least two debates: October 18th in Kansas City and October 22nd in Springfield. But their campaigns are still sniping about those debates. Both Claire McCaskill’s and Matt Blunt’s campaigns are looking forward to the debates as a way to break through the clutter of campaign commercials and discuss the issues. But the campaigns seem content to interject their own amount of clutter into the debate debate. Glen Campbell with McCaskill for Governor bemoans the fact that while debates in Kansas City and Springfield are scheduled, there won’t be a televised debate in St. Louis. But John Hancock with Blunt for Governor says both debates will be broadcast live statewide. Plus, Hancock says they’re trying to arrange a debate on a radio station in St. Louis. Campbell says that’s not the same and dismisses it as “out of sight, out of mind.”
