As Gary Pinkel said after his team beat Ball State two weeks ago, the competition raises about 15 notches. Missouri opens Big 12 play Saturday afternoon against Colorado. Mizzou enters conference play with a record of 2-1. The Buffs sport a perfect 3-0 mark. Colorado owns wins over Colorado State, Washington State and North Texas this season. The Tigers lead the overall series 35-30-3, but haven’t had much success recently. Colorado has won 17 of the last 19 meetings between the two teams, including the last five. Colorado head coach Gary Barnett is 5-0 against his alma-mater. Gary Pinkel is 0-3 versus the Buffs. Last year Missouri outgained Colorado 447-276. But four costly turnovers gave the Buffs a 21-16 win in Boulder. The game kicks off at 2:30 at Faurot Field.
