Kansas City’s bullpen blew a great game by starter Mike Wood. The Royals allowed three runs in the eighth and ninth innings in a 7-6 loss to the White Sox. Joe Crede hit two home runs for Chicago, including a game-winning 3-run shot in 9th. Wood surrendered just three runs in seven innings, but the bullpen could not hold the lead. Jeremy Affeldt gave up three runs in one-third of an inning and took the loss. Kansas City had jumped out to a 6-1 lead thanks to two RBI each from David DeJesus and Matt Stairs.
