The saying is “Big things come in small packages”. In Tampa yesterday afternoon they could have changed it to “Quiet things come in small packages”. About 1,500 people attended yesterday’s afternoon game between the Royals and Devil Rays, but those who cared to show up actually saw a good game. The Royals came away with a 7-6 victory in 10 innings. David DeJesus led the way offensively for the Royals with a homer and three RBI’s. Ruben Gotay’s innocent ground ball in the 10th scored Dee Brown from third base for the go-ahead run. Jeremy Affeldt worked around a single to earn his 13th save of the season, while Mike McDougal got his first win. Darrell May got the no-decision, but you won’t hear him complain. May has 18 losses this season–the Royals’ record is 19, set by Paul Splittorff in 1974
