St. Charles County sheriff’s deputies are investigating an incident they consider “racial intimidation”. Investigators say the letters KKK, apparently referring to the Ku Klux Klan, were taped on two garage doors owned by two black families. The same gray duct tape was used to outline the letters on a stop sign near a third black family’s home. A spokesman for the Sheriff’s Department believes the vandalism is the work of “neighborhood punks” familiar enough with the subdivision to know where the black families live.
