Woody Williams won his 11th game of the year as the Redbirds topped the Brewers 3-2 in Milwaukee. He lasted 5 1/3 innings and gave up one run off seven his two walks and four strikeouts. The Cardinals’ offense came from Roger Cedeno who drove in a run with a triple in the fourth inning and from Larry Walker who belted a two run homer in the fifth. With the score 3-1 in the ninth, Jason Isringhausen entered the game after Kiko Calero and Ray King held Milawaukee scoreless over 2 1/3 innings. Isringhausen got into a jam and allowed an RBI double to Geoff Jenkins but was able to escape with his 44th save. Williams improved to 11-7 on the season, while Ben Sheets, who has a 2.85 ERA, dropped 10-12. The Cardinals and Brewers wrap up their four game series this afternoon.
