The Royals extended an ugly streak last night with a 7-4 loss to the Devil Rays. It marked the 58th straight series without a sweep. Donnie Murphy hit the first home run of his career in the second inning to put the Royals up 1-0. The Royals led 4-2 in the eighth inning before Dennys Reyes, Shawn Camp and Jaime Cerda allowed five runs in the bottom of the eighth inning, ruining a great start by rookie starter Zack Greinke. He lasted 6 2/3’s innings and gave up two runs off eight hits off eight hits, no walks seven strikeouts and dropped to 8-11.
