The Royals erased an early 2-0 deficit to top the Devil Rays in Tampa 6-3. Designated hitter Calvin Pickering was 2-2 with three RBI’s and his fifth home run of the season. In the second inning Pickering drove in a run with a double and Abraham Nunez tied it with an RBI single. John Buck’s sacrifice fly in the third gave the Royals the lead, but Carl Crawford tied the game with a solo home run in the fifth for Tampa Bay. Pickering broke the deadlock with a two run shot in the eighth and David DeJesus made it 6-3 with an RBI double. Brian Anderson failed to get out of the eighth but got his fifth win of the season. Jeremy Affeldt earned his 12th save.
