State Auditor Claire McCaskill says the state is not properly removing information from computers it sells as surpluis property. Her audit of 56 computers from various state agencies says social security numbers, bank and medical records, and confidential law enforcement information remained on some of the computers disposed of by the state. She says the audit has not turned up any instances of the information being misused.
