University of Missouri Athletic Director Mike Alden will receive the All-American Football Foundation’s Outstanding Athletic Director Award. Alden will travel to Chicago next week to accept the honor, which is given each year to AD’s who “display outstanding leadership and accomplishment in collegiate athletics.” Under Alden Mizzou has had it’s two highest finishes in the annual Athletic Directors Cup which measures the on-field success of every team a college fields. MU has also led the Big 12 in graduation rate in 1999 and 2002. Another area of improvement under Alden has come in the area of finances. When he took over in 1998 MU’s operating budget was just under $14-million and is around $40-million today.
