The August primary is not quite done. Voters in Southwest Missouri still have one more thing to decide. Voters in McDonald County are re-voting today after a mistake left Randall Vaught’s name off the August Democrat primary ballot only in that county for the state senate’s 29th district. A judge ordered the election be re-done only in McDonald County, just one of six counties in that district. Terry Jarrett with the Secretary of State’s office does admit the law is a bit ambiguous as to whether it must be re-held in the entire district or just this partial. In any case, Jarrett says the Secretary of State’s office plans to accept this ballot’s results, although he admits not everyone else might think the same. No statewide races will be affected by the re-do of the primary.
