The settlement of the Ten Commandments lawsuit in Humansville has been worked out and could be put before a judge by the end of the week. The settlement gives plaintiff Carrie Road $45,000 to drop her suit claiming the posting of the Ten Commandments in the school is unconstitutional. In it, the school district agrees to follow federal law on church-state separation. Superintendent Greg Thompson has refused to sign the agreement. The school board has put him on leave and has offered him two months pay in a severance package.
