A high school cross country runner died Tuesday after collapsing at a meet in Jefferson City over the weekend. Rachel Dent, who ran for Lee’s Summit North High School, finished a junior varsity run before falling. Dent was taken to a hospital and then to a hospital in Columbia where she was on life support. Rachel Dent was 15.
