The Royals avoided a sweep in grand style Sunday with a 12-3 win over the Twins in Minnesota. Starter Jimmy Gobble went the distance and allowed three runs off six hits and two walks to get his seventh win of the season. He was helped by a steady offensive attack that saw five players—Abraham Nunez, Desi Relaford, David DeJesus, Matt Stairs and Joe Randa—drive in two apiece. Kansas City exploded for four runs in the fourth inning to take a 6-0 lead. They had a 12-1 lead before the Twins scored two runs off Gobble in the ninth.
