Royals rookie pitcher Zack Greinke didn’t get a shut out, in fact he didn’t even make it to the eighth inning. But don’t let that fool you. The 20-year old allowed three hits, no walks and no runs as the Royals topped the Tigers 1-0 at Kauffman Stadium. Greinke’s only help offensively came from Abraham Nunez, who drove in the game’s only run with a single in the fourth inning. Jeremy Affeldt worked a perfect ninth inning and struck out two to earn his first save since returning from a torn oblique muscle. It was his ninth save of the season. The Royals took two-of-three from the Tigers and won back-to-back games for the first time in almost a month.
