There has been talk that some of the more conservative members who have gathered in New York for this convention are concerned with what they perceive as too many liberal ideas being presented for consumption. Those on the right of center in the Missouri Republican delegation had a healthy helping of what they wanted to hear as Ralph Reed, the Chairman of the Georgia Republican Party and former Executive Director of the Christian Coalition, praised them for the work they’ve done to make big gains in Missouri by focusing on conservative strengths and values. And, he compares the current race for the White House to a high school basketball game in which in which the score is close and will be decided at the buzzer. Reed tells the audience the polls are starting to turn in favor of President Bush, with Democratic Presidential Candidate John Kerry losing ground in the surveys.
