Bret Boone’s two-run shot in the eighth proved to be the game-winner. Miguel Olivo hit two home runs for the Mariners. Scott Spiezio, Jose Lopez and Hiram Bocachica also went deep for Seattle. The Royals hit three home runs of their own. David DeJesus, Abraham Nunez and Alberto Castillo went yard for Kansas City. The Royals jumped out to a 4-0 lead before Seattle rallied for the win.
