The Royals rebounded from Tuesday’s 16-3 disaster to beat the Mariners 3-2 on Wednesday. John Buck hit a game-winning two-run homer in the bottom of the eighth. D.J. Carrasco pitched two scoreless innings to pick up the win. Starter Jimmy Serrano had a solid outing, giving up just two runs on five hits in seven innings. The game lasted just 2 hours and 3 minutes, the shortest game this season for the Royals.
