The Cardinals began a week-long homestand by beating Cincinnati 10-5 on Monday. Albert Pujols hit his major-league leading 37th home run of the season, a three-run shot in the bottom of the eighth. Pujols had five RBI on the night. Scott Rolen also drove in two runs for the Rebirds. Jeff Suppan won his 11th game of the year after giving up three runs in 6 1/3 innings. With the win, the Cardinals are now 12-2 against the Reds this season. The idle Cubs fell 14 games behind the Cardinals in the N.L. Central standings.
