MACOMB, ILL.—After two days off, it was back to work for the St. Louis Rams on Sunday. The team didn’t practice after its 13-10 pre-season loss to the Bears Thursday. Head coach Mike Martz was more concerned with his team healing than he was with the possibility of a sluggish practice. After Sunday’s workout, Martz said, “They’ve recovered pretty good, they’re out here going pretty good. We should have a real good week of practice.” A couple of changes took place on the first team offense and defense. Tony Newson replaced Tommy Polley at outside linebacker on the first team and Scott Tercero checked as the starting left guard, sending Andy King to the second team. Marshall Faulk, who didn’t play on Thursday night was suited up Sunday afternoon and took every snap with the first team. Travis Fisher is still slow at it in practice. Mike Martz is taking every precaution with his starting right corner back, who continues to be slowed by a touchy hamstring. He said Sunday, “Over the years with all these hamstring injuries, if it doesn’t feel right, it’s not right. Until that thing feels the way it should, we’re gonna be very careful with it.”
