It was only the first preseason game, but the Chiefs offense was already in midseason form. The Chiefs put up 311 yards of offense in the first half against the Giants on Friday, in a game that New York came back late to win 34-24. Trent Green and Todd Collins combined to go 24 of 33 for 325 yards and a touchdown. But the Chiefs defense struggled again. Ron Dayne ran for second quarter scores of 29 and 67 yards. The Giants ran for 122 yards in the first half. Former Rams quarterback Kurt Warner started for New York. He was three of seven for 49 yards.
