A five-game losing streak came to an end for the Royals Wednesday with a 4-2 win over the White Sox. Darrell May pitched allowed two runs off four hits, three walks and struck out four to improve to 9-12. Jaime Cerda worked around a walk in the ninth inning to get his second save. Kansas City got on the board when Andres Blanco singled to right in the third inning Ruben Gotay. David DeJesus singled later in the inning to drive in Blanco and make it 2-0. In the sixth inning, Mike Sweeney blasted a two run homer to give the Royals a 4-0 advantage—it was his 22nd home run of the season.
