Mark McGwire, Will Clark, Woody Williams and Scott Rolen. Those are just some of the names Cardinals GM Walt Jocketty has added over the last few years near the trading deadline. Add a new name to that list. The Cards acquired Rockies outfielder Larry Walker on Friday in exchange for minor-league pitcher Jason Burch and two players to be named later. Walker brings a career .315 average to St. Louis. He was the 1997 N.L. MVP and has won three batting titles in his career. Walker has been held to just 108 at-bats this season due to injury. He’s hitting .324 with six home runs and 20 RBI. The Rockies will pay about $7 million of the remaining $17.5 million on Walker’s contract.
