Mourners of the late State Senator Harry Wiggins of Kansas City hear a word from Wiggins himself during his funeral Mass. Wiggins wrote a farewell letter when he knew his time was short. In it, he wrote “Please do not grieve for me. Smile and laugh about all the good and fun times.” Adding, “I don’t want any of you to worry about me. I know where I am going, but I have to go alone.” Friends and colleagues filled the pews at St. Elizabeth Catholic Church in Kansas City. Wiggins died Saturday at the age of 71.
