Former Secretary of State Bekki Cook is the Democrat candidate for Lieutenant Governor. She has easily defeated State Senator Ken Jacob of Columbia, who hoped his record of confrontation with majority Republicans in the Senate would resonate with Demcorats. Cook faces State Senate Leader Peter Kinder, who was Jacob’s biggest antagonist in the Senate. He defeated former State Representative Pat Secrest of Manchester. Both Cook and Kinder are from Cape Girardeau.
