When voters go to the polls Tuesday they’ll be deciding on Amendment 2 – an effort to amend the State Constitution to ban same sex marriage. Doug Gray is withthe Constitution Defense League, which is opposed to the amendment. He says a law against same sex marriage already exists. But former State Representative Vicky Hartzler with the Coalition to Protect Marriage in Missouri says laws are useless if agenda-driven judges decide to legislate from the Bench. And, she says the battle must be joined at the state level. An effort to amend the U.S. Constitution to ban same sex marriage has been put on the shelf after it failed to generate the necessary votes in the U.S. Senate.
