The Public Service Commission is launching an investigation into the way the state’s biggest utility responded to power outages for 225,000 people a couple of weeks ago. Storms knocked out power in a wide part of the St. Louis area. The PSC wants to know if AmerenUE could have gotten power back to people sooner. The company says one-thousand workers were called out to do the work, that 80 percent of affected customers had power back within one day and 95 percent had lights within three days. The Commission will have a preliminary report ready next month
