On the heels of a campaign stop by Vice President Dick Cheney, President Bush makes a campaign appearance in Missouri. Bush is scheduled to be in St. Charles early this evening. He will meet with Daffney Moore, an active volunteer with Connections to Success, a regional charity that serves families on welfare. Bush will speak about his call for all Americans to volunteer two years or 4,000 hours over the course of their lifetimes. Bush created USA Freedom Corps to help Americans get involved. Moore is a mentor with Connections to Success, working one-on-one with those in the program, helping them become economically independent. Cheney spoke in Columbia on Monday afternoon at a Bush-Cheney ’04 event. The visits by the two top Republicans in the nation come as Missouri Democrats are focused on the gubernatorial primary debates. A spokesman for the national Republican Party says the timing is just a coincidence.
