Springfield Kickapoo senior-to-be, Shane Laurie, has given Southwest Missouri State a verbal commitment to play basketball. Laurie averaged 15 points per game as a junior and hit 42% of his three pointers, earning a second team All-State selection in Class 5. Laurie hasn’t decided whether or not he’ll play football his senior year—he was a first-team selection in Class 6 as a defensive back. Laurie can sign with the Bears in November when the early signing period begins. His older brother, Spencer will be a sophomore on the Mizzou basketball team this fall.
