Branson resident and former PGA golfer Jeff Julian has died at the age of 42 after a three year bout with Lou Gherig’s disease. Julian was diagnosed with the crippling disease in 2001, but went on to compete in seven PGA events the next year. He and his wife, whom he met at the Price Cutter Championship in Springfield, formed the Jeff Julian/ALS Foundation which sponosrs a golf tournament in Branson each year. They were also co-founders of the Driving 4 Life Foundation, which helps to raise money to end the disease. Tom Watson and his wife are also co-founders. Watson’s long-time caddy Bruce Edwards died of ALS earlier this year.
