The prosecutor in Jackson County says a deputy medical exmainer has credibility problems and he doesn’t want him doing autopsies on homocide victims. The Deputy Medical Examiner is Thomas Gill, who has a DWI conviction from Indiana on his record. It led to his dismissal from the Indianapolis coroner’s office. County Medical Examiner Thomas Young says he’s not going to follow the request. He says he doesn’t think the past record undermines Gill’s credibility as a medical examiner.
