After an hour-long hearing in East St. Louis Illinois, Art Margulis, the lawyer for Katie Wolfmeyer called her a” victim” and said she was “just a young girl taken by an athlete, a hockey player”. Wolfmeyer is accused of helping Blues center Mike Danton set up a murder-for-hire plot, which was thwarted by the FBI. Margulis claims Wolfmeyer wasn’t aware of her rights when talking to the FBI about the plan, which she admitted that she knew Danton wanted to kill his agent David Frost. Agents said she was read her rights three times. Wolfmeyer tried to enlist the help of a friend who worked as a police dispatcher. He informed authorities of the plan and helped the FBI to set up Danton and Wolfmeyer. Danton remains in jail and Wolfmeyer is out on bond.
