The Royals broke out of their scoring slump over the weekend by taking two of three from the Orioles and capped it with an 11-7 win on Sunday. Kansas City led 5-2 in the seventh when they broke loose for seven runs. Mike Sweeney finished the game going 4-for-6 with three RBI’s and two home runs—his 15th and 16th. Matt Stairs hit a two run homer to pump his season total up 12. Jimmy Gobble got the start and the win for the Royals by lasting six innings and allowing two runs off six hits. Gobble is now 5-6. Despite the series win, the Royals enter the All-Star break with a record of 31-54 and have the worst record in the American League.
