The days of 6-run rallies seem to be a distant memory for the Royals. In fact scoring six runs in a single game, or series for that matter, have also vanished. Kansas City was shut out for the third straight game on Wednesday, losing 12-0 to the Twins. Kyle Lohse gave Minnesota its third straight complete-game shut out, holding the Royals to six hits. Royals’ starter Dennys Reyes gave up four runs in the first inning and never got an out in the second. He was charged with six runs—four earned—and dropped to 2-4 on the season. This marks the first time in franchise history that the Royals have ever gone three straight games without scoring. Brad Radke, Johan Santana and Lohse are the first pitchers to throw three consecutive complete-game shut outs since Mike Mussina, Scott Erickson and Kevin Brown did it for the Orioles in 1995.
