A national survey says only two states had more fatalities because of junk on their roads than Missouri had during a survey period. The study by the Triple-A ranks 31 states and the District of Columbia and says we rank third for the most fatal accidents caused by road debris from 1999 through 2001. The study finds drivers trying to avoid road debris often cause other drivers to crash. The survey says 13 people were killed on Missouri roads because of debris during the three-years studied. Only Florida and Texas had more.
