If Jim Edmonds keeps this up, he’ll have enough amazing plays to fill his own 2004 highlight video. Edmonds robbed Adam Dunn of a second-inning home run as the Cardinals topped the Reds 5-3 at Busch Tuesday. That catch turned a two-run homer into the first out of the inning, but the Reds went on to score three times in the second. After that, Morris settled down and allowed three hits over the next five innings. Matt Morris’ day was done after the seventh inning and was not in position for the win, until Edgar Renteria blasted a two-run homer to give the Cards a 4-3 lead. Edmond’s solo shot—his 17th—in the eighth inning made it 5-3. Steve Kline pitched the final two innings to get his second save. He worked around a lead-off single from Ken Griffey Jr. in the top of the ninth to do it. Morris improved to 9-6 on the season. The Cardinals have won six in a row and are 19 games over .500, with a five game lead over the Cubs in the National League Central.
