Brian Anderson’s month-long exile to the bullpen came to an end on Wednesday night. Two innings later, Anderson was out of the game. He allowed eight runs-five earned-in two innings of work as the Orioles crushed the Royals 13-4 at Kauffman Stadium. Baltimore teed off for five runs in the first inning and four more in the third to put the game out of reach early. Anderson was yanked with no outs in the third after Chad Mottola, who was called up from Triple-A before the game, blasted a three-run homer. Anderson can’t take all the blame because his teammates made three errors in the field. He came into the game with renewed confidence after posting a 2.81 ERA out of the bullpen. He’s now 1-8 on the season. David DeJesus had one of five Royals hits and drove in two runs.
