Barring a possible work stoppage, Blues forward Pavol Demitra will wear another jersey next season. The Blues had until midnight to serve him with a qualifying offer of $6.5-million for next season, but opted let him become an unrestricted free agent instead. Had they made an offer, Demitra could have still sought a deal with another team, but the Blues would have had the option to match it. Demitra started his career in Ottawa, but spent the last eight seasons in St. Louis where he’s flourished. His best campaign was 2002-2003, when he amassed 93 points (36 goals/57 assists), but he had just 58 points last season….The Blues also failed to offer a qualifying offer to Mike Danton who is currently in jail for allegedly attempting to have his agent killed.
