Former Missouri Senator John Danforth has breezed through confirmation hearings before the Senate Foreign Relations Committee in Washington. Danforth has been nominated by President George W. Bush to be the country’s next Ambassador to the United Nations. Danforth received a warm welcome from the Committee and is expected to win easy confirmation from the full Senate.
