The Kansas City Chiefs have released offensive tackle Marcus Spears. The 10-year veteran spent seven seasons in Kansas City. During that time, Spears played in 80 games and started 18, including all 16 games in 2001. Spears spent three seasons with the Chicago Bears before signing with the Chiefs. Head coach Dick Vermiel said the move was made because of the depth of young talent on the offensive line.
