President George W. Bush has visited Missouri once again. This time he came to Liberty to promote the new Medicare prescription drug discount card. Bush went to the pharmacy at a Hy-Vee grocery store to promote the value of the new federal plan which he says will save senior citizens thousands of dollars on prescriptions. Bush accompanied 74-year-old Wanda Blackmore to the pharmacy to use her newly issued card for a prescription to fight an infection. She saved $17, paying $1.90 for the pills. The discount cards are a temporary measure until Medicare begins to pay for prescriptions in 2006.
