It was by no means a bad outing for Zack Greinke—not great, mind you, but not bad. One thing is for sure; his teammates didn’t give him much support at the plate. Greinke scattered five runs off five hits over seven innings in a 5-2 loss to the Mets. The Royals managed just four hits off the Mets on Sunday and trailed 5-0, before Desi Relaford grounded in a run in the seventh and Ken Harvey punched in another tally with a double in the eighth. Greinke dropped to 1-2 on the season, while his childhood idol, Tom Glavine lasted into the eighth inning to earn his seventh victory. The Royals are 23-37 on the season and have the worst record in the American League.
