The Cardinals’ offense wasn’t going to be denied on Sunday. St. Louis batted around in each of the first two innings and crushed Texas 13-2. Starter Woody Williams had a 10-0 lead to work with after two frames and his offense gave him a 13-0 advantage after four innings. Williams pitched six innings and gave up a one run off four hits and a walk. Williams got help from Scott Rolen, John Mabry and Roger Cedeno, who all blasted homers on Sunday. Rolen has 17 long-balls and a major-league leading 67 RBI. Rolen Mabry and Yadier Molina drove in three runs apiece on Sunday. With the win, the Cardinals improved to 23-12 on the road, which leads the majors. The Cardinals will come home to face the Braves, where they are 13-15 on the season. St. Louis has a game-and-a-half lead over the Reds in the National League Central.
