The statement has suitors lining up for a shot at center fielder Carlos Beltran. Beltran is a free agent after the season. He is one of only six players in major league history with at least three seasons of 100 RBI, 100 runs scored and 30 stolen bases. The Royals beat the Mets 7-5 Friday night. Ken Harvey smacked a two-run homer for Kansas City. Benito Santiago drove in a pair of runs for the Royals.
