The Royals got a double-dose of defeat on Thursday, dropping a double header to the Expos at Kauffman. In game one, Kansas City was held to just six hits in an 8-0 loss. Zach Day went the distance to get the complete-game victory for Montreal. In the nightcap, the Royals reproduced their offensive output with six more hits and lost 7-2. Expos starter Tomo Ohka was knocked out of the game when he deflected a line drive off the bat of Carlos Beltran. Ohka was replaced by Sun Woo Kim who was even more affective than Ohka. Kim finished out the third inning and pitched four more without allowing a single runner. The Royals only runs came from Angel Berroa, who hit a solo home run in the eighth and Matt Stairs, who drove in a run with a sacrifice fly in the ninth. Jimmy Gobble went into the eighth inning and got the loss. The Royals dropped two of three to the Expos, who have the worst record in baseball—the Royals are second worst.
