The Kansas City Wizards edged the Colorado Rapids 1-0 on Wednesday thanks to a penalty kick from Josh Wolff during stoppage time. Wolff had to be feeling a roller coaster of emotions as a result, because minutes earlier he missed on an open-net opportunity. The Wizards’ win put a stop to the Rapids’ 16-game home-unbeaten streak, which dated back to last season. Kansas City also moved to within a single point of Los Angeles for first place in the Western Conference.
