The Cardinals were unable to complete a sweep of the Astros Sunday, losing 3-2 at Busch Stadium. The Astros got on the board in the first inning with an RBI single from Jeff Kent. Roy Oswalt’s fielder’s choice scored another run in the second to give Houston a 2-0 lead. Cody McKay tied the game for the Cardinals in the fifth inning with a two-run single, but Raul Chavez gave the Astros a 3-2 lead with a sixth inning double. In the bottom half of the sixth, Cardinal first baseman Albert Pujols left the game after tweaking a hamstring on the basepath. Doctors won’t know the severity of the injury until they examine Pujols later today. Jeff Suppan allowed three runs off eight hits over seven innings and got the loss—he’s 5-5 on the season. The Cardinals open a four-game series with the Cubs tonight at Wrigley Field. The Cardinals start a four game series against the cubs in Chicago today.
