Secretary of State Matt Blunt – the presumptive Republican nominee for Governor – is outlining solutions to what he calls a health care crisis in Missouri. Blunt says costs are getting out of control and steps must be taken to rein in those costs. Blunt says litigation reform is a key ingredient in finding a solution to the problem. The Legislature has sent Governor Bob Holden litigation reform bills in each of the last two years … but he vetoed both of those efforts. Blunt says there is more that could be done to deal with the problem. He says he would also consider re-importing prescription drugs from Canada, where they are cheaper. He says considering doing this would be the fiscally responsible thing to do.
