The Royals were able to hold off the Tigers Thursday afternoon in a 9-6 win in Detroit. Carlos Beltran had another big day for Kansas City by going 3-for-4 with four RBI’s and scoring twice. The Royals did most of their damage in the third and fourth innings scoring three in the third and four in the fourth. Kansas City was able to fend off the Tigers despite Detroit rallying for four runs in the bottom of the seventh. Dennys Reyes improved to 2-0 on the season and Jeremy Affeldt pitched the ninth and got his fifth save of the season.
